SEASON 36 | may 2024

False Starts, Falls, Fouls, or The Art of Making Mistakes
may 16-19, 2024

Thursday - Saturday 7:30 p.m. | Sunday 6:00 p.m. ASL interpretation Thursday May 16

The Violet Crown Players and Diverse Space Dance Youth Theatre present False Starts, Falls, Fouls, or The Art of Making Mistakes, a new dance piece exploring the relationship to various forms of failure. Conceived by choreographer Toni Bravo.

In researching this work, Diverse Space has examined the human tendency to avoid failure and the desire to protect loved ones from the results of “making mistakes.” The piece expresses ways in which attitudes of encouragement and learning through trial and error are far more productive and loving than the more common practice of immediately passing judgement.

This is Diverse Space Dance Youth Theatre’s gala performance for their season, which also takes as its theme “The Art of Making Mistakes.” Donations in support of the season can be made here: https://gofund.me/bf0539bb.
