Bonnie Cullum and ensemble have worked to create a piece of ritual theatre honoring the Dark Goddesses and unites their facets into one greater working. Live original music, dance, and text blend to bring forth the essence of each goddess. In a ritual setting, these dark Goddesses remember promises, create challenges, confront fear, conjure dream, celebrate sex, and embrace death. These goddesses manifest as seers and advisors in a time of world crisis.

VORTEX launched the initial production of Dark Goddess in January 2000 and remounted this year due to popular demand. Our audiences experience a theatre ritual which honors the energies of dark goddesses from diverse cultures.
