Frannie Brown is an Austin based Belly Dancer and Costume Designer with an innovative take on ancient dance forms and a passionate love of creating art through performance. With a keen interest in the days of old, her studies in dance make up a unique blend of American Tribal Style, Egyptian Cabaret, Flamenco, Turkish Rom, Burlesque, and she is currently learning how to tap dance. Touring on the road for 4 years with Renaissance Festivals has given her the privilege to train with many talented performers across the country. She has also taken countless workshops with various renowned belly dancers including Zoe Jakes (Beats Antique, Yard Dogs Road Show) and Rachel Brice (The Indigo, Belly Dance Superstars). During the past few years this fine filly has been a performer for Austin's award-winning burlesque troupe Carousel Cabaret, Surly Joe of the Girlie Show, and Gadjo Disko. She is currently seen around town shakin' it out with That Damned Band, Crash Alchemy, and her new dance project, Apophenia. With all her magical powers combined, and her impeccable sense of style, her performance will leave you in a state of pleasing curiosity in this gallimaufry of art nouveau, comedy, and sultry dance.
